Richmond Sustainability Commitee presents. . .Learn to Crochet!

Crocheting workshop! When: Saturday, January 9th from 3pm-5pm Where: Flying Cat Coffee Co., 3041 SE Division Street Free!

For RSC, a big part of 2010 is going to be a year of learning more about self-sufficiency and homesteading to move towards more local consumption. By fixing instead of purchasing new, by growing or making instead of purchasing something new made in a faraway place, we’re more connected to where things come from and waste less resources. Not to mention the pride of ownership in creating something with your own two hands!

Details:

Led by Elaine Hartley. We’ll learn basic crocheting skills and learn how to crochet a scarf to keep us warm this winter! Single crochet or for the more adventurous half double or double stitches. Join us in the delightful ambiance of the Flying Cat and learn a new skill! Limited to 10 people. What do you need? Between 150-300 yards of yarn and a crocheting needle. It'll cost about $10. If interested, please email Elaine at [email protected] and she’ll send you a confirmation along with specific details of what to bring.
