Multnomah County is a dynamic organization consisting of approximately 5,000 regular employees providing diverse services to various groups across the County and the community at large, such as libraries, social services, public safety (jail management), assessment and taxation and many others.

We are proud to say our Information Technology group is 150+ strong and we service around 90 buildings throughout the greater Portland Metro area. Our technical environment offers something for everyone – we run a cross-platform environment (Solaris 9 and 10), Linux, and Windows. We support over 700 business applications throughout the County, as well as 8,000 voice/ fax lines and multiple call centers. Our 6,000 desktops continue to keep things interesting with a blend of laptops, Windows desktops and think clients. The Senior Business Systems Analyst is an integral member of the Application Services team and is responsible for communication with both technical teams and customers in the organization. The goal is to understand customer needs from a business perspective, create business requirements, provide project planning coordination and implement technical solutions. The position will manage customer requests for IT services and liaise with technology teams in defining appropriate technical solution. Duties include:

·Identifying, designing and implementing applications and tools to support identified needs

·Assisting customers in evaluating needs and processes

·Analyzing, streamlining and documenting processes

·Recommending additional options in determining the right technical or business solution

·Primary liaison and facilitator with customers and technical teams in understanding business needs and determining the right solution to meet those needs

·Work closely with other IT staff to develop consistent processes and procedures for documenting business cases

·Addressing customer requests through development of business cases which outline benefits, risks, and total cost of ownership

·Develop and/ or oversee others in the development of requirements definitions, business process analysis, product evaluations, user acceptance testing and user training for assigned projects

·Define and conduct phase reviews, interfacing with other IT Teams and customers throughout the lifecycle of a project

·Project Management of moderately complex projects

·Provide needs and data analysis, including business process re-engineering

·Experience with data definition, data modeling and data flow diagramming.

Salary / Pay Rate:$35.01 to $43.09 per hour depending on experience.
