Every War Has Two Losers Screening

Every War Has Two Losers Screening at Holy Names Heritage Center, 1/16

Join us at the Heritage Center on January 16 for this annual celebration of William Stafford’s poetry, including a special screening of Every War Has Two Losers.   This recent documentary film explains why Oregon’s Poet Laureate, William Stafford, refused to fight during WWII but instead performed manual labor in a camp for conscientious objectors. Based on Stafford’s writings, the film explores the moral dilemmas that accompany war and features Alice Walker, Robert Bly, Kim Stafford and others. Co-hosted by the Friends of William Stafford, this free program begins at 3PM. The Center is located at 17425 Holy Names Drive in Lake Oswego.
