WVDO Third Thursday Program: Jeri Alcock Presents: Planning for Success: Creating a Fund Development Plan”

This practical session will teach participants how to create a fundraising plan and measure success of a fund development program. Participants will work step-by-step through the process of initial assessment, goal setting, drafting the plan, reporting results and evaluating success. The session will cover how to measure success of specific fundraising activities as well as the overall development program and will provide guidelines for reasonable expectations for return on investment.

Participants will learn: The prerequisites necessary for goal setting; self-assessment questions to get started; how the fund development plan interfaces with the strategic plan and operating budget; the revenue sources most likely to grow and expand; the 5 questions every fund development plan must answer; how to measure and report success.

Participants will receive sample planning and reporting templates that can be adapted for use in their own organizations and are encouraged to bring their own fundraising plans to share with others.

This session is appropriate for development staff, volunteer fundraisers, board members and Executive Directors.

This is a free program; no registration is required.

Program will be held on Thursday, January 21, 2010 at the YWCA, Portland located at 1111 SW 10th Avenue in the 3rd floor meeting room.

Program is provided by Willamette Valley Development Officers (WVDO) and sponsored by First Independent Bank.
