We need your help!We are a non-profit, faith based, shelf shopping emergency food pantry. As soon as we get more volunteers, we can open on Sundays.

Volunteers allow us to serve those who need emergency food, including the working poor. The civil rights rules we follow are rigid and training is ongoing.

We need responsible, polite, kind, and non-judgmental volunteers, daily, weekly or monthly. We need volunteers Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 10:00 to 12:00, 12:00 to 3:00 as Intake volunteers, Shelf Stockers and Pantry Client Helpers.

Kathleen Greene, Site Manager, [email protected]

E-mail Kathleen and note your full name, phone number and when you would like to volunteer. She will get right back to you. We need Intake volunteers on each Sunday from 12:00 to 3:00 PM.

The Intake volunteer needs to be kind, polite, able to work with all kinds of people and be non judgmental.

The Intake volunteer should be able to use Excel to add (type) a new person’s name to the client database, and add the date of the latest visit to the client list.  The civil rights rules are rigid and need to be followed. Training is ongoing. At times, the volunteer may accept donations, with a big smile and a thank you, and write a receipt.

We also need 10:00 AM to 12:00 Noon volunteers on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays to stock the shelves, clean bathrooms, take out trash, and vacuum and straighten up the pantry.

The volunteers will have to follow the Federal, state, and county guidelines, lift 35-45 pounds and not have any allergies to food, pet food or cleaning products. Training is ongoing.

We also need help in the pantry Friday, Saturday and Sundays from Noon to 3:00 PM to keep the shelves full of food and help clients out to their car and return with the shopping cart.  The volunteers will also place empty boxes on the carts for the next client. At times the volunteers may accept donations, with a big smile and a thank you, write a receipt and weigh and record the pounds.

Volunteers should be able to great the clients, have them sign in the book, and explain how to shop (if they are new) and fill pet food and toiletry orders from the food pantry voucher. The civil rights rules are rigid and need to be followed. Training is ongoing.

Rules for acceptance and participation in the above program are the same for everyone without regard to race, color, sex, age, sexual preference, handicap, religion or national origin.
