Movies and Meaning Group "Up in the Air" - January 21

This Thursday, January 21, you are invited to join us for "Up in the Air" starring George Clooney, Vera Farmiga and Anna Kendrick. "Up in the Air" was directed by Jason Reitman of "Juno" and "Thank You for Smoking" fame. Clooney plays a man whose job is to do the dirty work of firing people for corporations that don't have the decency to do it in person. His job keeps him in the air on a continual basis meaning he has no real home (a lifestyle he at first prefers). The movie appears to address a number of contemporary issues including the loss of soul in corporate America, rootlessness, an emotional homelessness, and our basic human need for connection.
