NWSA-Lower Columbia Center Announces RFP

The Northwest Service Academy (NWSA) Lower Columbia Center is proudly accepting one and 3-year proposals for the Portland-Vancouver Individual Placement (PVIP) and Statewide Individual Placement (SWIP) programs. Projects will run from September 2010 – August 2011.

Schools, government agencies, and community-based organizations in the Portland-Vancouver Metro area, and statewide throughout Oregon, are invited to apply for an AmeriCorps member beginning January 26, 2010. Proposal materials are available for download at http://www.nwserviceacademy.org/partner_IP.cfm.  Complete proposals are due March 4, 2010 by 5:00 p.m.

NWSA is an environmental service organization committed to developing community leaders while protecting the environment. NWSA places skilled AmeriCorps members into schools, local government agencies and community-based organizations to address critical environmental issues. Projects focus on ecological restoration, climate change, energy/resource conservation, environmental education, sustainability, volunteer mobilization and community strengthening.

“This is a great opportunity for schools, local government agencies and community-based organizations throughout Oregon and Southwest Washington to place a skilled worker on a special environmental project that might otherwise be neglected due to budget cuts and existing staff limitations.” says Lara Jones, IP Program Coordinator.

New applicants are strongly encouraged to attend one of our informational sessions to learn about the program and the proposal process.  RSVP by contacting Lara Jones, Program Coordinator (contact information below.)
