Covers & Blankets - Raise Donations for Janus Youth Program

Covers & Blankets 7 is a open mic night of COVER tunes generating BLANKETS, warm clothing, and toiletries to be donated to the Janus Youth Program of Portland, an off the street shelter for young mothers and at risk teens right here in Portland.

Start Time: Saturday, January 30, 2010 at 7:00pm End Time: Sunday, January 31, 2010 at 2:00am Location: the Bossanova Ballroom Street: 722 E. Burnside City/Town: Portland, OR

Here's how it works.... YOU show up to the Bossanova Ballroon with a New or gently used Blanket, jacket, hat, pair of socks, scarf or gloves, etc,... or NEW Toiletries and 5 bucks for your admission to the show.

Then, if you so desire, sign up to sing a cover song or two. The only rule is... it has to be a Cover tune. which means a song already released to the public. You can mash it up, smash it up or stitch it up... just do it and make it your own.

Microphones and a sound system will be provided so just bring your voice and the instrument of your choosing. If you want to sing a song or two with the crowd you may OR If you just want to enjoy the evening as it progresses, find a cozy spot and just listen - that's ok too! Just come and Join us for one of Portland's most heart-centered and music filled annual events.

Now in our 7th year of doing Covers & Blankets, we have generated a tremendous amount of good will as well as a mighty pile of sorely needed items for the Janus Youth Program of Portland. This is a wonderful chance for us all to contribute to the well-being of people who really need our help as well as coming together in the spirit of Giving and to share our Love of Music with our community.

So... Please join us on January 30, 2010 at the Bossanova Ballroom in Portland Oregon, starting at 7pm - 9pm is All Ages, then Adult programming from 9:15pm - 2am.

Get there EARLY if you plan on singing a song because the sign up sheet WILL fill up fast and you don't want to miss your chance to Bring it and Sing it. Families with children are welcome to attend as this is an all ages show until 9pm.
