Position Overview
With the support of several Field Organizers, the Field Manager will grow an intensive and large-scale grassroots field program and develop volunteer leadership. Working with regional and national experts, the team will lead a cutting edge program to build public support for the freedom to marry, positioning the state for national leadership on LGBT equality.

Basic Rights Oregon is the state’s leading grassroots advocacy and education organization dedicated to ensuring that lesbian, gay bisexual and transgender Oregonians experience equality. More info at www.basicrights.org.

Responsibilities
• Recruit, mobilize and train volunteers to take action for equality, including phone banks, canvasses, educational events, house parties, speaking engagements, etc.
• Supervise and mentor a growing team of Field Organizers
• Raise money through individual donors, events, house parties and organizations
• Develop work plans, track results and conduct staff and project evaluations
• Advance organizational goals for marriage equality, as well as transgender justice, youth justice, and racial justice
• Represent the interests of the organization with local community leaders
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications & Requirements
• 3+ years full-time community, labor, campaign or related organizing experience
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects, develop work plans and overcome obstacles
• Detail oriented, relentlessly focused on meeting and exceeding goals
• Commitment to building a multi-racial team; experience working in multi-racial environments
• Experience with supervising staff and interns
• Commitment to excellence and to the mission and goals of the organization
• Ability to work long hours, including nights and weekends
• Drivers License and ability to travel throughout the state
• A deep and burning desire to make change in the world
