position summary:

The Vice President of Marketing and Communications is responsible for developing and managing Special Olympics Oregon (SOOR) communication and marketing tools including web based, electronic and print media. The position directs cause-marketing initiatives and online giving program. The position ensures a constant flow of updated and appropriate information between SOOR staff, SOOR stakeholders and our community. Responsibilities: 1) Strategic direction of general SOOR Branding, Marketing and Communications: Develop and distribute SOOR marketing and communications tools, Manage SOOR Social Media. 2) Strategic direction of marketing and communications for key events and projects: Polar Plunge/LETR initiatives, Governors’ Gold Awards, Regional and State Games, Youth Games, and other projects as needed. 3) Solicit, initiate and manage cause-marketing promotions including SOOR initiatives and SOI programs: Procure Media and CRM Partners, Coordinate and manage Charitable Tax Check-off campaign. 4) Develop and manage online giving program. 5) Plan, organize, and manage content for website and web based solutions including Local Programs interface: Work closely with staff to ensure regularly scheduled and timely updates of all web content and information. 6) Coordinate and manage Champion Newsletter, E-newsletter and other stakeholder communications tools. 7) Manage marketing projects including design, printing and production. 8) Key account management. 9) Work with Field Directors and act as expert to ensure proper use of all SOOR and SOI logos and print standards. 10) Work closely with Development team to create sponsorship proposal templates

Approximate Time Allocations: 30% Cause Related Marketing / Sponsorship Revenue Production; 30% Marketing/Communications Messaging Management; 20% Account Cultivation and Stewardship; 10% Staff / Contractor Supervision; 10% Team Participation and Leadership

Salary / Pay Rate:Based on skills and experience - submit requirements with cover letter
Qualifications:- Bachelor degree in related field (advanced training preferred); 5-10 years direct experience with all relevant skill sets; 3 years leadership responsibilities; Knowledge and experience with web-based strategies and solutions; Demonstrated ability in copy writing and layout; Ability to identify, recruit, train, organize and manage volunteers; Demonstrated proficiency in the following skills: Organizational, Public speaking, Interpersonal, Computer, Writing; Ability and willingness to travel and to work evenings and weekends Please send cover letter with resume and salary requirements to: Special Olympics Oregon Attn: Sr. VP of Development 5901 SW Macadam Ave Ste 200 Portland OR 97239 No phone or email inquiries please.
