The Climate Trust is seeking an experienced accountant and office manager capable of handling a variety of responsibilities. This position is directly responsible for all bookkeeping and accounting activities as well as overseeing office management for the organization. These responsibilities include managing all budgeting and accounting processes, A/P, A/R, payoll, general ledger entries, monthly closings, bank statements, monthly and annual financial reporting, internal controls compliance, completion of detailed forms and schedules, and performing activities in accordance with approved procedures. This role requires tracking of carbon assets, contract revenue, management reporting, and reconciliation of program budgets with staff time allocations. This position also coordinates benefits management and administers existing human resources policies. The manager provides supervision for one administrative staff member, administrative support to the President, and financial support for special projects as needed.

Major Responsibilities and Duties •Implementation of all accounting functions including A/R, A/P, bank reconciliation, preparation of financial reports and statements, audit assistance, and preparation of IRS forms including the Form 990 •Credit card reconciliation and expense report preparation •Tracking of project expenses, contracts and preparation of reports as requested •Preparation and maintenance of annual budgets working closely with all staff •Collection and review of employee timesheets and payroll processing •Support to programs necessary to evaluate accounting and financial ramifications of new and innovative proposals and projects •Employee benefits management, facilitation of the appraisal process and development of annual work plans working with staff •Implementation of staff development programs working with the President •Preparation of materials for Board of Directors meetings and coordination of action items and follow-up communications •Provision of office management and administrative support as needed

Required Skills and Abilities:Required Talents •A minimum of 3-6 years of increasing responsibilities in nonprofit accounting •Demonstrated proficiency in Sage MIP (or Quick Books) and Microsoft Office Suite •Bachelor’s degree in accounting •Experience with managing outsourced payroll processing and other vendors •Strong understanding of GAAP and UBIT issues •Skilled at developing project and consulting budgets for proposals •Direct management of one or more staff members •Human resources policy experience •Excellent verbal and written communication skills •Strong interpersonal and customer service abilities
