The American Civil Liberties Union of Oregon (ACLU) is seeking a full-time Outreach & Office Coordinator in its office in downtown Portland, Oregon.

The Outreach & Office Coordinator reports to the Associate Director and is part of the team working to advance ACLU priorities and programs throughout the state by strategically involving ACLU members, supporters and allies in that effort. The majority of the Outreach & Office Coordinator’s time will be spent working with the legal, legislative and development directors and field organizer to maximize ACLU’s access to volunteer resources. Additionally, this position will coordinate events and campaigns, in the greater Portland area, to support civil liberties issues. Approximately 25% of this position is made up of Office Coordinator duties, providing specific administrative and IT support in the Portland office.

This position will require some evening and weekend hours.

Salary / Pay Rate:DOE; excellent employee benefits package.
Qualifications:The ideal candidate must have: • A.A. or relevant work experience. Experience in nonprofit, advocacy or other community-based groups is valuable. Fundraising experience is a plus. Experience in a legal environment is helpful. • Excellent organizational skills, including ability to coordinate numerous concurrent projects; • Highly self-motivated, organized, adaptable; • Proficiency with Word, Excel, Access and Outlook software applications, including familiarity with databases and mail merge functions; • Familiarity with computer/printer networks, telephone systems, and basic IT functions; • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; • Demonstrated ability and willingness to learn about and understand cultures other than one’s own; • Ability to motivate and energize others; • Ability to effectively and responsibly delegate tasks to volunteers; • Ability to work effectively, passionately and professionally with volunteers, staff and Board members; • Flexibility and creativity; • Commitment to civil liberties issues; • Positive attitude
