Regional Arts & Culture Council - Artist Workshop 5/1/10

"How'd You Get that Public Art Gig"

Meet and hear from three artists who have successfully navigated the waters of Public Art Commissions. Find out how they crafted their “RFP”s and “RFQ”s, how they created and refined their budgets, what the design process entailed, how they dealt with the unexpected as the process unfolded, and what they would do differently next time. After taking a self-guided tour of three recent public art commissions before the day of the workshop, participants, RACC staff and the artists will come together to discuss how the artists got the gig, and what it took to make these pubic art commissions happen.
