Interested in helping local youth using your tutoring/writing experience?

The Black United Fund of Oregon is looking for volunteers to donate 3 hours on a Saturday afternoon helping local high school students develop the skills they need to submit competitive personal and scholarship essays. As a scholarship writing tutor, you will help students uncover their unique journey in a step by step process that is both practical and clarifying through helping with brainstorming, grammar and sentence flow, etc. The Black United Fund of Oregon is looking for volunteers to attend the workshop from 1pm-4pm and a 2 hour training the week prior to the workshop. Volunteers can sign up for any of the following workshop dates:

May 15th, 2010 (at Lewis & Clark College)

June 12th, 2010 (Location TBD)

July 24th, 2010 (Location TBD)

This is a great way to positively impact the lives of our local youth! If you are interested in signing up or would like to learn more about our workshops, please contact Christian Kofi at [email protected] or 503-282-7973.
