WMC has distinguished itself as a patient-focused, innovative health care organization that operates with a community-based, passionate force of dedicated volunteers and staff. We provide urgent care services three days per week on a fully equipped Mobile Medical Clinic RV (MMC) as well as three evening clinics per week and one Pediatric and Immunization clinic per month in our Gresham and Portland Clinics. The Receptionist will make appointments for acute medical care for low-income people seeking care at our fixed sites as well as the MMC, document patient encounters in an Access database and reach out to the community as needed to market our services.

RESPONSIBILITIES / DUTIES • Enter patient demographic and visit information into access database. • Answer phones and make appointments. Return Patient calls as needed and direct to appropriate staff • Refer callers to other agencies as needed. • Misc. office tasks to be assigned (i.e. faxing, filing, requesting records). • Marketing of our services as needed. This will include periodic offsite meetings. • Train and supervise volunteers on data entry and phone support. • Participate in All Staff and Clinic Team meetings as necessary and appropriate

24 hours per week, 8:30-5pm Monday through Wednesday

Salary / Pay Rate:$13.00/hour. Excellent benefit package including fully paid health care, a generous vacation package, and paid holidays.

Qualifications:• Fluent Spanish speaking ability • Excellent customer service skills for interactions with individuals over the phone and those that come to the clinic with questions. • Our patients are economically challenged and are frequently under a lot of stress and may present themselves in an agitated manner. This position requires a willingness to be patient and kind to people who are experiencing increased stress and anxiety due to their economic and medical problems. Often their needs would be better served by another agency and accurate referrals are a priority. • Basic understanding of Access and Excel or similar programs used for data entry and scheduling purposes. • Knowledge of medical transcription/medical terminology would be helpful. • A positive “can do” attitude. • Strong interpersonal skills, with demonstrated ability to work as part of a team and with people of diverse ethnic, social, economic and cultural backgrounds. • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills, with ability to work independently, and prioritize responsibilities. • Detail-oriented. • Strong verbal, written and computer skills (Microsoft Word, Access, Outlook and Excel) • Possession of or ability to obtain a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
