Internship Information Technology  Summer 2010  

The Architectural Heritage Center is currently interviewing students for our internship program.  We are a Portland based non-profit resource center for historic preservation. 

  Learning opportunities and possible projects include:      

Maintaining and modifying our website which is updated on a weekly basis

Learning to use Drupal (www.drupal.org) to create and maintain web pages and forms Network setup and support in a small business environment Setup and installation of PCs and software as needed by our users PC support for a staff of ten Assist with support of our Windows file server General office assistance and projects Participate in programs and events     Compensation:  This is a non-paid internship.  Internships can be completed for academic credit.  Applicants seeking professional work experience with no academic credit may also apply.   Work Schedule: Hours are flexible and based on the credit hour requirements of the individual academic program, but are agreed upon prior to the start of the internship.  Students typically work 8-16 hours a week with a structured work schedule.   General Requirements:  Qualified Candidates should be organized, be attentive to detail, have strong written and verbal communication skills, be a creative thinker, and able to work independently and as a team player.   Job Specific Requirements: Information Technology Interns must have the ability to setup and configure Windows PCs with supervision and/or some experience in web design and development. This is a hands-on opportunity to learn while doing the many task required for support of IT in a small business. Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is helpful.   All interested applicants are encouraged to apply.   About The Architectural Heritage Center:  Applicants may learn more about us on our website (www.visitahc.org).
