Operations Specialist

Volunteers of America Oregon, one of Portland’s largest non-profit social services agencies, has an opening for an Operations Specialist who will provide technical and operations support to our many human service programs. This position partners closely with program and division staff by providing technical assistance in: (1) providing support to program and division directors in the areas of budgeting, invoicing, analysis, etc.; (2) serving as a contracts liaison between individual programs, administration, and the funder; (3) maintaining the agency’s Operations Manual; (4) coordinating program-specific grant and RFP responses including drafting text, blending text from multiple contributors into the master document, editing for accuracy and clarity, submitting final responses, etc.; (5) representing the organization and/or programs through committee participation; and (6) coordinating the implementation of quality management and/or client privacy activities.

Salary / Pay Rate: The starting salary range for the Operations Specialist is a firm $38,000 – $45,000. This position is also eligible for the organization’s benefit program, which includes a health/dental/vision plan, short and long-term disability insurance, life insurance, Employee Assistance Program, and annual paid leave. Qualifications: This position requires a Bachelor’s degree and three years of relevant operations-level experience OR five years similar operations experience. Because of the nature of the position, we are looking for someone who possesses a unique combination of strong writing skills coupled with strong mathematical and analytical skills.
