Summer Tree Inspector Training - this Saturday

Help care for trees this summer without digging or getting dirty! Friends of Trees is kicking off its popular Summer Inspector program this month and we invite you to join us. Summer Inspectors are given a neighborhood-based route of approximately 30 trees to visit twice over the course of the summer. These are trees that were planted over the course of our last planting season which ran from last November through this April.

The best part is that there is no schedule – you figure out what works best for you! (We estimate that each time through the route takes about 3-4 hours.)

No experience is needed. We’ll train you about how to care for and assess the health of these new trees. And we’ll even give you a coveted green, organic cotton “Tree Team” t-shirt to wear!

The only requirement is that you need to attend one training that will run from 9am-12pm and will include breakfast. We'll present the big picture behind our program and your role in it, along with a brief tree biology lesson, and then detailed descriptions of what you'll be looking for. The sessions will end with a short outing with local arborists to show you exactly what you'll be doing.

NEXT TRAINING Saturday, May 8th at the Holy Redeemer School in North Portland (127 N. Rosa Parks Way)

PLEASE REPLY to Andy Meeks at 503-282-8846, ext. 24 or [email protected] to register for one of these trainings or if you have any questions.

Space is limited, so reserve your today!
