The Statewide Development Coordinator is a one-year AmeriCorps VISTA position that will help build the capacity of Red Cross chapters throughout Oregon to save and rebuild lives. This position will play a critical role in a statewide effort to consolidate, collaborate, and centralize fundraising activities. Working with the five chapters and two districts, the Statewide Development Coordinator will identify, compile, share, and implement best practices in fundraising and assist in the design and implementation of standard fundraising processes, procedures, and systems – particularly in the areas of grants, corporate relations, and major (individual) gifts. As the team of Red Cross employees and volunteers participating in fundraising activities across the state grows, this position will facilitate communication and information flow so that we can expand and improve our vital disaster preparedness and response services.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: - Research grant prospects and opportunities, especially for common needs among various chapters/districts. - Compile library of grant proposals from throughout state. - Support submission of grants through writing, editing, and compiling proposals in cooperation with chapter/district staff. - Collect and compile info for grant reports, especially for multi-chapter or statewide proposals. - Develop and maintain system for tracking statewide/multi-chapter corporate prospects. - Support cultivation of corporate prospects through research, arrangement of meetings, preparation of materials, documentation of results and follow up steps, and communication. - Develop communication pieces for major donors that can be adapted for local use throughout the state. - Assist with the development of statewide systems for acknowledging, cultivating, and recognizing major donors. - Provide coordination and support for other fundraising activities (e.g. special events, Board training, gift processing and acknowledgement). - Attend CBVC/AmeriCorps*VISTA sponsored orientation, trainings, meetings, and disaster response courses

Salary / Pay Rate:- $865 monthly allowance (taxed); Choice of education award or end of service stipend upon successful completion of service.
Qualifications:1. Bachelor’s degree or related experience. 2. Independent, self-motivated, creative and resourceful. 3. Keen attention to detail; organizational abilities; and sharp analytic and critical thinking skills. 4. Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills. 5. Fundraising/grant writing experiences a plus. 6. Comfortable with computers, proficient with Windows Office Suite, database programs, and internet. 7. Spirit of cooperation and demonstrated cultural competency/ability to work with diverse groups of people. 8. Valid driver’s license and good driving record.
