The French American International School seeks a Director of Extracurricular Programs to start August 9. This is a full time position with competitive benefits package. Recruitment closes May 28.

This position is responsible for the management of all regularly occurring extracurricular activities. She/he hires and supervises a corps Aides who supervise students when not under the direct supervision of classroom teachers. This includes morning drop-off and afternoon pick-up, recess, lunch time, and daily afterschool care. The Director creates and administers a program of after school classes and is responsible for the bi-annual Arts and Cultural Enrichment (ACE) Week programs. He/she is responsible for compliance with Child Care Division of Oregon regulations, which includes preparing for and passing regular inspections. The Director is aided by and is responsible for hiring, training, and supervising an assistant director and an administrative assistant with whom he/she collaborates to ensure the operational effectiveness of the Extracurricular Programs Department. This position serves on the Administrative Council and has high degree of interaction with students and the parent body; its activities link a number of administrative and faculty members as well.

Qualifications:Minimum Requirements: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience in related field; experience working with children in an educational setting; intermediate to advanced French language skills; physical mobility sufficient to ensure the safety of children. Preferred Qualifications: Native level fluency in French.
