Neighborhood House SUN Community School Summer Instructor, Robert Gray MS: 22-24 hr/wk (incl. instruction & prep time). Monday-Thursday for 5 weeks (July 6, 2010- August 5, 2010). Three Summer Instructor positions are open. Job Responsibilities:

The Robert Gray SUN School Summer Instructor will prepare and/or implement curriculum and teach academic activities focused on science, math or reading for 5th-8th grade students, as well as supervise lunch time and teach enrichment (arts, drama, sports) or group games for an hour daily. The SUN Summer Instructor manages student behavior in a way consistent with SUN School expectations.

Minimum Qualifications:

1. Bachelor’s degree and one year of experience working with children/youth. Or, Associate’s degree and three years of experience working with children/youth;

2. Strong classroom management skills and natural leadership qualities;

3. Positive and enthusiastic attitude;

4. Experience and ability to work with students in grades 5th-8th from diverse socio-economic or ethnic backgrounds;

5. Food Handler’s Permit required;

6. Must pass criminal background check as condition of employment.
