The word "humanure" inevitably raises many questions: Is it feasible? Is it safe? Is it legal? What is everybody making such a big stink about?

Join us for a presentation and discussion on composting toilets and humanure. We will cover all the pressing questions that would-be humanure enthusiasts may have. Topics include: the environmental benefits, toilet construction, humanure harvest and maintenance, the legality of the whole thing, and more! Participants will leave with a better understanding of the composting toilet controversy and resources for getting involved in the movement.

This workshop is a community action project led by two current Northwest Service Academy Americorps members, Gary Strokos and Randall Cass. Gary is the Permaculture Garden Coordinator at Madison High School and Randall serves as an Environmental Educator for Oregon Tilth. For more information email [email protected]
