position summary:

Part-time Child Parent Education Liaison position open to work with homeless families residing in our transitional housing program. Must have self-initiative, be able to work independently, good time management skills and have an attention to detail. Must have prior experience in helping families set up educational goals and helping families achieve those goals. An understanding of harm reduction is a plus. Must be able to work under pressure, handle quick turn-around time lines, and be able to respond appropriately to people in crisis. There is a high volume of data entry, writing case notes, and a strong candidate will be able to track their time. Must be able to use creativity, resourcefulness, understanding, compassion, empathy, good judgment and be able to reach children and parents at their level to build strong, trusting relationships. Must have experience in recruiting and working with volunteers. AA and two years of relevant experience or BA and one year of relevant experience. Must have valid Oregon driver’s license, reliable transportation, have ability to drive agency vehicles, be insurable and able to provide proof of current personal auto insurance coverage. 20 to 30 hours per week depending on available funding, $11.96 - $14.35 per hr, non-exempt, with benefits.
