position summary:

• Responsible for completing recurring and daily accounting activity including cash receipts and disbursements; receipt of gifts of stock; reconciliation of cash and investment accounts; and preparation of monthly financial statements. • Aid the Chief Financial Officer with the annual audit. Prepare and provide audit schedules, and draft GAAP financial statements and footnotes for the Chief Financial Officer to review. • Assist the Chief Financial Officer with preparations for the Foundation’s Forms 990 and 990T filings. • Provide timely information to assist in the preparation of the Annual Report including but not limited to lists of gifts, grants, funds and donors. • Maintain accounting records in accordance with the Foundation’s document retention policy. • Other tasks and projects as assigned by the Chief Financial Officer.

Salary / Pay Rate:Compensation to be commensurate with individual experience and qualifications
Required Skills and Abilities:Position Requirements • A minimum of 3 years experience in the accounting field with an emphasis in nonprofit accounting and general ledger preferred. • Superior organizational skills with attentiveness to detail; consistent and accurate follow-through on projects; and experience managing multiple priorities and deadlines. • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral. • Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and work under pressure. • High level of integrity, professional maturity and strong work ethic. Displays sound judgment and discretion. • Genuine enthusiasm for the mission of the Community Foundation and commitment to its goals. • Bachelors degree in accounting. • Proficient in Word, Excel, Adobe, PowerPoint, Outlook, Internet and Database Management. Sound understanding of new technologies.
