Event volunteers needed: Support local classrooms!

Schoolhouse Supplies is participating at two local events this Saturday, June 12th and we can use YOUR SUPPORT!

If you're looking for a fun way to spend a few hours this Saturday - while helping to support our mission of providing every Portland Public Schools student with the supplies they need to succeed - then consider signing up for one of these volunteer opportunities by sending an email to Lydia, [email protected]:

Great Urban Race Saturday, June 12th Shift #1: 12-3pm Shift #2: 2:30-5:30pm Location: Close-in Portland (exact location will be provided to confirmed volunteers)

**Friendly/outgoing volunteers are needed to help manage our “clue site” and to interact with racers who will be dropping off supply donations as a part of the race.

**The Great Urban Race is put on by a national event company and teams of two sign up for a city-wide challenge, solving 12 clues along the way. Top teams win cash prizes and the chance to compete in the finals in Las Vegas. Schoolhouse Supplies has once again been selected as the featured local nonprofit with proceeds from ticket sales coming back to us and one of the clues will ask teams to find school supplies to donate. ReUse Week Celebration Saturday, June 12th Shift #1: 12-2pm Shift #2: 2-4pm Location: The ReBuilding Center, 3625 N Mississippi Ave, Portland 97227

**Friendly/outgoing volunteers are needed to host a Schoolhouse Supplies table as part of ReUse Week: a celebration of organizations that focus on giving used materials new life! Mississippi Street will also be celebrating Cirque du Cycling on Saturday, so this would be a great opportunity if you’re interested in checking out the festivities before or after your shift. **We're also in need of a volunteer to wear our Pencil Pete mascot costume for about 45 minutes between 12:30-1:30pm.

By collecting private and corporate donations of all kinds – from classroom basics like pencils and paper to books, backpacks, and folders – the Free Store for Teachers supplies much-needed learning materials to local classrooms. Every child deserves the tools they need to succeed in school – help us support this mission!
