position summary:

Children’s Relief Nursery, a child abuse prevention program, is looking for a high-energy and driven Volunteer, Resource, and Event Coordinator. This integral member of the development team reports to the Development Director. Primary responsibilities include coordinating events (including our signature event, the annual Portland’s Original Iron Chef auction gala), volunteer recruitment (for program and event needs) as well as assisting with other fundraising activities, such as diaper drives and holiday gift-in-kind drives. Previous experience will demonstrate a proven track record in successful event/auction planning, successful volunteer recruitment and management as well as the ability to multi-task many projects and events at once while maintaining calm while under pressure.

ABOUT CHILDREN’S RELIEF NURSERY: We are dedicated to preventing abuse and neglect in young children because all kids deserve the opportunity to reach their full potential. Our early childhood program builds successful and resilient children and preserves families. We focus our work on families with children from birth through four because healthy relationships between parents and their infants/toddlers lay the foundation for a child’s potential in life. Services include therapeutic classrooms (for toddlers with developmental delays), respite childcare, parenting classes, music/art curriculum, mental health intervention, home visits and intensive case management. Our program changes lives by preventing abuse and neglect.

Salary / Pay Rate:Commensurate with experience
Required Skills and Abilities:EXPERIENCE: Minimum of three years experience in event/auction planning, fundraising, public relations and/or marketing, community or public relations activities or any combination of experience and training that would provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities to perform job duties. SKILLS: This position requires: excellent written and interpersonal communication skills; excellent organization, time management and multi-tasking skills; comfort and ease in working with technology; ability to work independently and proactively but also as a team member; leadership skills for supervising, motivating, and providing direction for volunteers. Must be highly proficient at using MS Office software and other office technology such as relational databases; Raiser’s Edge experience is preferred.
