JESUIT VOLUNTEER CORPS (JVC) NORTHWEST, Portland, OR, is hiring a full-time AmeriCorps Coordinator to begin as early as late June, 2010. The AmeriCorps Coordinator will have responsibility for 135 members, living in 21 communities in Alaska, Idaho, Montana, Oregon and Washington. The AmeriCorps Coordinator is responsible for all aspects of the JVC Northwest AmeriCorps program including development of all materials, training of members and service sites, enrollment, budgeting, management of members’ insurance policies, on-going paperwork, evaluations, reports, and other duties. The position will be assisted by a part-time administrative assistant in the beginning stages.

JVC Northwest is seeking a person with a commitment to promoting the mission and values of JVC Northwest and AmeriCorps; excellent organizational, oral and written communication skills; ability to exercise independent judgment and work with many details; proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook (proficiency in Access is a plus); experience with developing and managing budgets, experience in communications, business administration or government programs; ability to work independently as well as in a team, and ability to travel out of town. Former Jesuit Volunteer or AmeriCorps member preferred. Bachelors degree required, masters degree preferred. Generous benefit package, excellent work environment.
