Critical Skills for Portland’s New Leaders: A three-part leadership development series

Portland’s history is filled with stories of enterprising leaders, but Portland needs inspired, resourceful and innovative leaders prepared to tackle today’s challenges as well. Join City Club’s New Leaders Council for one or all sessions of this three-part training series where you’ll meet fellow Portlanders who are new to their leadership roles or who aspire to become leaders. You’ll learn research-based leadership fundamentals, hear perspectives from veteran Portland leaders and learn hands-on skills practice you can immediately apply to your life.

Session 2: Getting results through others. Keynote Speaker Sue Thomas, co-founder, Avatar Inc. and past president of City Club. Saturday, June 26, 2010 10:00 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. Includes coaching skills, motivation and accountability

Session 3: Leading without being in charge. Saturday, September 25, 2010 10:00 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. Includes how to be an agent of change

All sessions will be held at City Club, 901 SW Washington St., Portland, Oregon 97205. The cost is $10 per session for City Club members or $20 per session for non-members. About the presenter: Sharon Padgett is a training project manager for Knowledge Learning Corporation. Since 2002, she has designed and facilitated adult learning experiences on a wide variety of business management and leadership development topics. Sharon has been a member of City Club’s New Leader’s Council since 2008.
