Please ask your family and friends to join you in voting for us. Our proposal, “Reaching New Heights,” will reach kids in peril with healthy food, healthy play and hope. The Portland Parks Foundation has worked for three years with community partners and the City of Portland Parks and Recreation to travel mobile rock climbing walls to some of the city's neediest and most underserved neighborhoods. The program offers young people the experience of improved strength, motor skills, self-confidence, trust, cooperation, and access to a free meal.
We will be posting daily reminders on our Facebook fan page. Join us there and tell us how it is going--and remember to ask your Facebook friends to join us.
If you tweet, please share it with your followers.
If you have a blog, a listserv, or just a lot of colleagues and friends who can join you in this cause, please share the information with them today. There are codes you can copy and past from the Share Our Strength web page to make posting easy.
Share Our Strength, a national nonprofit, is working to end childhood hunger in America. They created these awards to honor innovative organizations across the country that are overcoming barriers and connecting hungry kids with food.
