WVDO Third Thursday: Big Milestones – Big Impact: Planning and Executing Anniversary Events

Is your non-profit coming up on an important Anniversary milestone? Trish Trout, of Trout Limited LLC, shares her extensive experience with Anniversary celebrations showcasing her most recent clients, St. Mary’s Academy and the Sisters of the Holy Names. They celebrated a smashing 150 years in 2009 and she’ll tell you all about it and other memorable Anniversary events.

PROGRAM GOAL: To inform and educate non-profit staff, executive directors and boards of directors about the benefits and challenges of planning and executing Anniversary events.

PROGRAM Will Include:

Benefits of an Anniversary event or campaign.

Costs associated with an Anniversary event or campaign.

Assessing Readiness.

Creating Your Anniversary Plan.

How To…

· Planning and brainstorming

· Feedback from other organizations that have executed similar events/programs

· Utilize insider skills and contacts

· Incorporate anniversary year themes/identity into everything you do that year

· Create new partnerships and strengthen existing ones

· Re-frame organizational communications in values/history

· Create a budget and stick with it

· Plan fundraising campaigns to maximize donor incentives for contributions/sponsorships

· Make it memorable for everyone

Presenter Bio: Patricia Trout, Trout Limited, LLC established her company in 2000. Her services rage from organizational and board development and facilitation, strategic planning, capital campaigns, grant writing, annual appeals, telethons, and event sponsorship and coordination to planned giving and publications. Selected clients include Portland State University, Portland Classical Chinese Garden, Central Catholic High School, Concordia University, St. Mary’s Academy, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Columbia-Willamette, Birch Community Services, Salvation Army, Hacienda Community Credit Union, and The Northwest Catholic Counseling Center.
