4H Garden and Farm Discover Day Camps

Oregon State University 4-H and Sunnyside Environmental School bring you 4-H Farm and Garden Discover Summer Day Camps. Through fun, hands-on activities and field trips, children will explore gardening, agriculture, animal husbandry, food, nutrition and many other sustainable living topics. This safe, wholesome 4-H opportunity is perfect for children who love gardening, farms, wildlife, art, being outdoors, and helping others. Drop offs/Pick ups will all occur at Sunnyside Environmental School, 3421 SE Salmon Street.

Camp Sessions:

July 26-30, 9 AM - 3 PM, Grades K-2, GARDEN ADVENTURES, Cost $100*, 20 spots available Description: From butterflies, worms, songbirds and flowers to apples, carrots, rabbits and chickens, this week will offer wholesome, fun learning activities designed to introduce young children to the world of gardening, farming and nature exploration.

August 9-13, 9 AM - 3 PM, Grades K-5, FARM AND GARDEN DISCOVERY, Cost $120*, 40 spots available Description: Fun, hands-on discovery of: seeds, soil, fruits, vegetables, farm animals, cooking, green crafts, nature art, renewable energy and tons of other great healthy living topics and skills designed to engage, excite, inspire and education budding gardeners and young farmers.

August 16-20, 9 AM - 3 PM, Grades 6-8, FARM TREK 2010, Cost $120*, 20 spots available Description: Campers will enjoy fun field trips as they travel to exciting rural and urban locations to explore farms, gardens, local businesses and sustainable development. Each camper will also create a "Take Action" plan designed to make a difference at their school, community, or home.

August 23-27, 9 AM- 3 PM, Grades 3-5, FARM AND GARDEN DISCOVER, Cost $120*, 20 spots available Description: Fun, hands-on discovery of: seeds, soil, fruits, vegetables, farm animals, cooking, green crafts, nature art, renewable energy and tons of other great healthy living topics and skills designed to engage, excite, inspire and education budding gardeners and young farmers.

*Scholarships are available for students receiving a free/reduced lunch.
