Cooking for Kids at Thirst

Morrison Child and Family Services continues its noteworthy Cooking for Kids series of fundraisers June 17, at Thirst Wine Bar & Bistro, 0315 Southwest Montgomery Street.

The 6 p.m. dinner, titled “A Thirst for Strawberries,” features a three-course meal showcasing local produce and celebrating Oregon’s quintessential strawberries. Each course is skillfully matched to stunning wines from the Willamette Valley’s Anne Amie Vineyards. Pinot reigns supreme at Anne Amie, with Pinot Noir, Pinot Gris and Pinot Blanc forming the heart of their production.

This dinner features a special twist: a chef’s demonstration with the main courses by Thirst’s Leslie Palmer and complete recipes you can perfect at home. Get ready for seafood and meat courses, plus, of course, dessert! And set your palate for strawberries all sorts of ways. Chat over dessert with Chef Leslie and Ksandek from Anne Amie.

All proceeds support Morrison's programs to restore childhood, rebuild families and renew hope for thousands of children in our community.
