POSITION: Intake and Outreach Specialist AmeriCorps

LOCATION: 212 Main St, Springfield, OR 97477 and 868 Commercial St SE, Salem, OR 97302 (2 positions)

SUMMARY OF POSITION: The Intake and Outreach Specialist will serve as a client advocate to help people navigate steps to prepare for and/or preserve Homeownership and will spearhead outreach efforts for NEDCO’s Regional Housing Center Programs in their service areas. The Specialist will gain extensive knowledge of foreclosure prevention and loss mitigation tools.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES: • Respond to telephone inquiries from residents in service area regarding NEDCO services. • Assist with homeownership and foreclosure prevention education workshops. • Assist NEDCO clients to submit applications and supporting documentation; assemble files. • Compile and maintain complete and accurate participant files and statistics. • Coordinate referrals and maintain quality inter-agency relationships on behalf of NEDCO. • Support the development of the Homeownership Center programs via public speaking, implementing marketing strategies and coordination with NEDCO staff. • Stay abreast of foreclosure trends, foreclosure processes in Oregon, foreclosure prevention methods, and pre-purchase loan and down payment assistant programs. • Provide timely, respectful service to pre-purchase and foreclosure prevention clients. • Develop processes to streamline program delivery for maximum efficiency and effectiveness. • Assist in volunteer recruitment and training; develop volunteer management program structure. • Ensure ongoing success of program through documentation of all activities including: Contacts, Curriculum for workshops and trainings, and Volunteer tracking. • Complete general office duties related to position (mailings, filing, phone calls, outreach, etc.). • Complete and submit all OSSC/AmeriCorps required reports and time sheets timely. • Attend OSSC/AmeriCorps sponsored orientation, trainings, meetings and disaster response.

Salary / Pay Rate:$11,800 and $5,350 education award upon completion of service
Required Skills and Abilities:PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: 1. An independent, self-motivated, creative and resourceful individual with a commitment to NEDCO’s mission. 2. Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills. 3. Experience with curriculum development or volunteer management a plus. 4. Proficient with Windows Office Suite including Excel, Word and Power Point. 5. Ability to speak Spanish fluently strongly preferred.
