position summary:

Loaves & Fishes Centers Since 1970 Loaves & Fishes Centers has provided a nutritional and social lifeline for seniors through 33 meal sites in Multnomah, Washington and Clark counties and Meals-On-Wheels delivery to homebound seniors. With the help of more than 7,500 volunteers, the nonprofit, nonsectarian agency now serves 5,000 meals daily and more than 1.4 million meals each year. The agency is celebrating 40 years of service to seniors in 2010.

General Summary The Development Officer provides leadership and support to the development department by serving as a key fundraiser with responsibility for creating and successfully executing assigned annual fundraising events, managing, cultivating and stewardship of a major gift, planned giving and corporate partner portfolio and leading the development and community outreach efforts in Washington County.

Salary / Pay Rate:Dependent on Experience & Salary History
Required Skills and Abilities:• Three-five years proven fund raising success in nonprofit environment • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal and presentation skills • Proven ability to build relationships and raise money • Success in a fast-paced environment and ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities • Experience with computers; Microsoft Office, fundraising software such as Raiser’s Edge and desk top publishing preferred • Willing to work limited extended hours to support special activities and other deadlines • Candidate must successfully pass the Loaves & Fishes adopted pre-employment Drug & Alcohol test and criminal background check. • 70% travel within Washington, Multnomah and Clark counties required. • Passion for serving seniors in our community
Qualifications:• Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Communications or related field required
