Description
PDX Summer School provides tutoring services for low income students in the David Douglas school district. Our students come from Mill Park Elementary which has a 90% free and reduced lunch, 60% English Language Learner student population. Because so many students do not practice English or reading over the summer they suffer academically. This results in a lot of reteaching in the Fall while their native English speaking peers move forward. The goal of PDX Summer School is to provide these students with the help they need to maintain and improve int their academics over the summer.
