Description: Cascade AIDS Project (CAP) is the oldest and largest provider of HIV prevention, education, housing, advocacy and support services in Oregon and Southwest Washington. We are seeking a Research and Evaluation Specialist to plan, coordinate, and oversee an outcome monitoring project on an HIV prevention intervention in collaboration with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Responsibilities include developing and ensuring compliance with all outcome monitoring procedures and protocols; working with the Director of Prevention and Education and the CDC on all outcome monitoring activities; data collection, management and analysis; participant recruitment and follow-up; and quality assurance, reporting, and evaluation activities. This position will require travel to national meetings. This position reports to the Director of Prevention and Education.

Minimum Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university with major course work in public administration, public health/health administration, or social sciences, which included courses in applied research or evaluation • Knowledge of methods and applications of applied research/evaluation techniques • Oral and written communication skills, including those needed for development of reports and delivery of public presentations • Experience managing data using Access, Excel, SPSS, SAS, or other data management systems. • Experience with recruitment, retention and follow-up of research participants • Experience conducting data collection for research and/or evaluation purposes • Ability to work as a team member with people of diverse backgrounds. • Demonstrated computer and keyboard proficiency using Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, Outlook), Macintosh Computers, and working knowledge of the internet • Successful experience working with diverse populations • Must be available to work evenings and weekends

Preferred Qualifications: • A Master’s degree with major course work in public health, public administration, or applied research/social science discipline • Two years of professional research/evaluation experience (e.g. research assistant or evaluator). • Experience working in an HIV/AIDS service organization is desirable. • Verbal and written fluency in English and Spanish

Salary / Pay Rate:$40,029 – 47,549 annually, depending on experience; employer-paid health, dental, vision, long-term disability and life insurance; 401(k) retirement plan with generous employer matching contribution, 125C cafeteria savings plan; generous vacation and health leave benefits.
