Westwind urgently seeking summer camp kitchen staff

The Westwind Stewardship Group is urgently seeking one Head and one Assistant Cook to oversee food service supporting the YWCA summer camp program. This is an exciting opportunity to spend the summer in one of the most beautiful places in Oregon, and be part of a dynamic team providing great camp experiences for kids.

The positions are open immediately and will run through August 20, 2010. The ideal candidates will have at least three years food service experience, including institutional food service. The positions pay competitive seasonal daily wages and offer a 10% end-of-season bonus. Shared housing and board are also provided.

Head Cook: Lead and oversee seasonal food service for summer camp; prepare and serve quality and sustainable meals, manage kitchen, staff, inventory and food service.

Assistant Cook: help prepare and serve quality and sustainable meals, assist with managing kitchen, inventory and food service.

Westwind is a 529-acre camp and education facility located on the mouth of the Salmon River, just north of Lincoln City. It is one of the last largely undeveloped tracts on the spectacular Oregon Coast. The Westwind Stewardship Group was created to steward this site in perpetuity, and use it as a platform to serve the people of Oregon and the Northwest by promoting conservation, education and sustainability.
