Portland World Cup & Health Fair!

The Portland World Cup Tournament will take place at Brentwood and Flavel parks in Southeast Portland on Saturday, July 17th-July 18th 2010 with the final games for each of the divisions played at Peter Stott Park on Sunday July 25, 2010.

VOZ Worker's Rights Education Project ("VOZ") is a worker-led organization that empowers immigrants and day laborers to gain control over their working conditions through education, leadership development and community organizing.

This July we are hosting the 2010 Portland World Cup, "Promoting Community Healthy and Cultural Exchange". As an organization, VOZ has organized soccer games as a way to bring people together and to engage them in our work for over ten years. Soccer can be a very powerful organizing tool, especially for immigrant communities. This tournament will bring families together from diverse backgrounds together, encourage cultural pride and exchange, as well as provide education and information about health and health services.
