CENTER SPECIALIST

 

WHAT IS IT?

 

As a Center Specialist volunteer you are in the best position to meet new people and create a lasting impression for OASIS. Enjoy being socially engaged as you direct the flow of center activities. Work as part of a team to assist others, solve problems and share your talents and enthusiasm.

 

WHAT’S NEEDED?

 

Previous experience in a professional office environment to include previous computer experience with Microsoft Office programs and familiarity with operation of standard office equipment such as fax and copy machines. The ability to multi-task with attention to detail in a busy environment is essential.

 

WHAT’S INVOLVED?

 

1. Greet center visitors and answer multi-line telephone system in a professional and welcoming manner, providing complete and accurate information regarding OASIS programs.

 

2. Complete Registration, New Membership and other forms accurately and completely.

 

3. Maintain detailed record keeping system regarding registrations and payments.

 

4. Maintain awareness of confidentiality issues with respect to personal information.

 

5. Maintain an organized work environment and ensure adequate supplies are available.

 

6. Do outreach phone calling to members to promote specific OASIS programs.

 

7. Assist with office projects as needed.

 

WHEN?

 

This position is available Monday – Friday with two shifts daily: 10:00 am – 1:00 pm; and 1 – 4:30 p.m. We ask for a commitment for at least one shift per week. Volunteers have their choice of open shifts.

 

WHERE?

 

The Center Specialist volunteer position is located at the OASIS office in Downtown Portland.
