Go play outside...and take a kid with you!

Do you like to hike? Do you like to go on bike rides? Do you like hanging out in a park on a warm summer day? So do kids! Become a mentor this summer with Mentor Portland and take a youth along on your next outdoor adventure.

Mentor Portland is a unique adventure mentoring program that serves Portland youth between the ages 8-14 through one-on-one mentoring and exciting group activities. We focus on matching safe and caring adults over 21 with youth who are facing life’s greatest challenges. Our youth face significant disruptions or instability in their family life; whether they have an incarcerated parent or are in foster care. With a supportive adult relationship, youth make smarter choices and choose better futures.

Join us next Tuesday, July 13st from 6:30-7:30 p.m. to learn more at our monthly Info Session. The session will take place at Boys and Girls Aid, located at 018 SW Boundary Ct, Pdx 97239.

The youth in our community all have different stories and different struggles, but need is the same: someone they can trust, someone who's honest, someone they can look up to, and a sense of safe community. A mentor's year-long presence has a direct and positive impact on youth, whether that is higher school attendance; improved social skills; healthier family relationships or the ability to trust. The youth aren’t the only one whose lives can change from this friendship, mentoring can change two lives - theirs and yours.

RSVP for the Info Session at www.mentorportland.com or email Elaine at [email protected]. If you are unable to attend this Info Session, a one-on-one meeting can be arranged.
