Job Announcement: Resident Services Coordinator - Afffordable Community Environments

Job Title: Resident Service Coordinator

 

SUMMARY

 

The Resident Services Coordinator is responsible for managing the educational and community buildings for ACE residents, both young and old, in Vancouver and Washougal, Washington.

 

HOURS: 30 hours per week, Monday through Friday; this position frequently requires a flexible schedule involving occasional evening or weekend hours depending on programs and activities.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

 

Program Development and Implementation

 

Develop and implement new programs that provide residents educational opportunities to increase skills and confidence, and opportunities for residents to interact and engage with each other to breakdown feelings of isolation and build stronger community. Activities to include: • Secure new partnerships to provide services • Maintain and/or expand current partnerships. • Staff programs as necessary. • Manage contracts with third party resident services providers • Manage volunteer instructors

 

Project and Event Planning

 

Develop and implement special events held at ACE’s properties for residents. This includes BBQs, gardening days, holiday parties, etc. Activities to include: • Coordination with Property Management staff • Network with community to acquire donation of funds and/or supplies. • Secure volunteers and manage. • Outreach and communication to residents. • Coordinate day-of event activities.

 

Fund & Volunteer Development • Assist Executive Director in researching and applying for grants to support the Resident Services Program. • Contact community organizations or businesses to inquire about donations of materials or funding for specific programs or events offered by the Resident Services Program. • Identifying volunteer opportunities and coordinate volunteer participation on program, projects and events.

 

Outreach and Communication

 

Develop and manage outreach and communication with residents regarding resident services programs and events. Activities to include: • Surveying residents on their needs and desires for programs • Creating and distributing flyers for programs; • Writing and distributing monthly newsletter; • Identifying new models of communication (i.e. email, bulletin board, etc.) to increase resident knowledge and participation in Resident Services Programs. The Resident Services Coordinator is directly accountable to the Executive Director.

 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES This position typically will supervise individual volunteers or small groups of volunteers, as required. There may be opportunities for this position to supervise interns.

 

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS The Resident Services Coordinator will work directly with children, families and community partners therefore it is important that they have. • Good communication skills (verbal and written) • Desire to work will people of all ages, socioeconomic status (SES), physical/mental abilities etc. • Ability to work independently on assigned tasks • Experience/interest in event planning and program development

 

COMPENSATION $12-$14/hour depending on experience. Employment includes medical, dental and vision coverage, paid vacation and paid holidays.
