SE Portland Tool Library Needs Volunteers!

The SE Portland Tool Library is volunteer run non-profit where residents of SE Portland can borrow home and garden tools completely for free! SEPTL is hopping. In 2 short months, we've signed up over 200 members and lent out hundreds of tools. Our library of tools grows daily and includes all sorts of goodies from hedge trimmers to circular saws to ladders to a concrete mixer. We're also in the process of expanding the library to double our current space!

There's one area, though, where the library is lacking, and that's volunteers. We're completely volunteer-powered, so can only open if we have neighbors willing to host the library. As of now, we won’t be able to open as early as July 31st if folks don’t sign up.

Volunteers work 3 hour shifts on Saturdays between the times of 8:30am-2:30pm and Tuesdays from 5:30pm-7:30pm. We need at least 2 people per shift. You DON'T need to know anything about tools; you just need to greet folks and check tools in and out. We'll always make sure there's at least one experienced volunteer so you're not flying solo. And it's fun to volunteer! You get to meet your neighbors and learn about the projects they're up to. And sometimes there are donuts and coffee involved!

Interested? Visit our website and check our online calendar to see where the gaps are. Here's the link: http://www.septl.org/volunteer.php. We also need help with outreach, tool maintenance, and all sorts of other stuff. If you're interested in special jobs, email [email protected] for more info.

Many thanks, and we hope to see you at the library soon!
