Do you love the outdoors, being around kids and cooking? Then OMSI’s Camp Cook position at Camp Attitude may be for you! The Camp Cook is responsible for planning menus, cooking breakfast, preparing and presenting lunch-making materials, and/or preparing dinner (depending on numbers in camp), cleaning the kitchen and pantries and washing kitchen laundry. This position often involves extended hours and days worked. Room and board is provided during programs; room provided during non-programming work days with 1 hour work per day expected.

Salary / Pay Rate:Pay Range: $50 - $70 per day.
Qualifications:The ideal candidate will cook nutritional, substantial meals from scratch, order low-cost, quality food and deliver to the camp, understand vegetarian requirements and be able to cook nutritional vegetarian meals. Understand safe food handling procedures and kitchen cleanliness requirements, present food in an appetizing and visually pleasing manner, plan menus for diverse groups including children, adults and seniors, cook breakfast or lunch with clean-up, and/or dinner with clean-up within the 8-hour shift and communicate efficiently with other cooks, program coordinator, science camps director, food distributors, maintenance personnel and instructors. Candidates must have prior experience cooking for camps, schools or other large groups, must have Oregon State Food Handler’s License and a valid Drivers License. Candidate will have to pass pre-employment and/or pre-duty checks, such as criminal background check, reference checks, American Camp Association (ACA) background checks (& on annual basis), requirements in the MVR Policy including passing Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check and Alcohol & Drug Test for non-CDL Drivers Policy, including pre-duty drug test.
