PHCNW needs volunteers for our Curriculum Committee

PHCNW (Portland Habilitation Center Northwest) is a non-profit organization whose mission is to train and employ people with disabilities. We are in the process of getting certified by the Oregon Department of Education as a career school.

This proposal would expand PHCNW’s current training offering into other areas, including: Detail Drafting using SolidWorks software, Building Maintenance (basic repair of structures), and clerical skills including MS Office Suite. Also working on bringing the Landscape Training Program back.

The Training Manager, Lynden Evans, is forming a Curriculum Committee and is looking for volunteers. Would you or someone you know of be interested in being a curriculum/syllabi verification committee members?

All that is required from the curriculum committee member is to read through our proposed curriculum, fill out the 15 question survey – multiple choice, and submit a resume. There is no commitment beyond this--unless you are interested in helping out more (and in that case please let us know!)

Lynden explained that anyone who is interested in joining the committee doesn’t need to have educational experience, but do need professional experience in the specific field of interest.

If you have any questions or need additional information, please feel free to contact me, or Lynden Evans, our Training Manager at x165 or [email protected]. Please feel free to pass this on to anyone who may be interested.

Thank you,

Heather Salek
