position summary:

APANO seeks 20 hour/week Membership Coordinator to increase membership outreach, communications and engagement in our statewide policy advocacy and civic engagement activities. Candidate should be dedicated, creative and motivated, and will work in the areas of membership coordination, database and office management.

Job Responsibilities

  • Work with APANO Coordinator and Membership/Fundraising committee to increase new membership and renewals
  • Process membership applications and renewals including database, payment, and acknowledgment
  • Run membership reports and lists from database
  • Coordinate membership drives and renewals through phone banks and mailings
  • Support volunteer recruitment and retention
  • Coordinate APANO's quarterly membership meetings
  • Work with APANO Coordinator to manage membership communications
  • Coordinate general communications with staff, including website, E-News, facebook, twitter
  • Develop, review, edit and prepare APANO outreach materials including brochures, event flyers and programs
  • Provide general support
  • Provide logistical support and outreach for other APANO meetings/events
  • Assist with mail pickup, bank deposit, phone messages, office organization and cleaning as directed
  • Attend regular staff meetings

Compensation and Hours

  • 20 hours per week, $12/hour starting as independent contractor, with potential to move to regular employee status.
  • Primarily weekday work schedule, including some work-from-home flexibility, and an average of one evening a week and one Saturday each month.
  • Position is based in Portland and expected to work from Portland Office at 922 N Killingsworth Ave.
  • Work related travel outside of local area will be reinbursed (mileage at nonprofit rate)

Required Skills and Abilities:- Ability to maintain financial and contact information records with strong attention to detail - Strong verbal and written communication skills - Expertise with email, word, excel, web-based technology such as online contacts and social media - Ability to successfully manage multiple projects and responsibilities with consistent follow-through - Customer service experience in a work or volunteer setting Additional Abilities Desired (but not required): - Experience coordinating volunteers - Experience working with Asian Pacific American communities - Bi/multilingual in API language(s) a plus
