position summary:

The Oregon College of Oriental Medicine is a non-profit educational institution that trains Master's and Doctoral students in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine. OCOM’s academic programs are among the most comprehensive in the country, providing students with a solid foundation in acupuncture, Chinese herbal medicine, therapeutic massage, and qi cultivation, as well as a focus on collaboration between Chinese medicine and Western biomedicine. We are seeking a Campus Technology Manager to support the maintenance of existing technologies and the planning and implementation of new technologies. This is an ideal role for a candidate who may not have significant work experience, but possesses a passion for both technology and customer service.

Essential Functions: • Database Administration: Provide end user support and training. Perform data auditing, data entry, needs analysis. Support implementation and review of new database software/modules. Manage data migration. • Fixed Asset Tracking: Maintain accurate and up-to-date fixed asset inventory database. Log all new capital purchases. Retire items as appropriate. Perform regular audit of asset list. • Photocopier/Office Equipment Management: Manage budget and purchasing. Provide support and training for photocopier and other office equipment. Track photocopier usage/uptime. Act as liaison between vendors/support and college. • Voicemail/Telephone System and Service Support: Manage budget and purchasing. Manage all changes to voicemail system structure. Report on telephone/voicemail related data. Provide end user support and training. Manage all telephone service issues and changes. • General Support of All IT Network Infrastructure: Support the Director in network/web account maintenance, security, group management, software purchasing/installation and hardware maintenance. • End User Help Desk Support and Training: Maintain checklist of end user. Track training, group permissions, account status. Provide desktop support and IT training. • Web Mastering: Manage new web projects, including needs analysis, cost/benefit analysis, proposal, design, testing, implementation, training and review. Maintain existing web infrastructure. Perform web content updates. Provide web design and web usage training. Migrate data between internal and online systems. • Documentation: Document information technology standards and best practices as developed and implemented by the Director. Document network performance. • Stay current with developments in web, telephone, Open Source software, non profit technology trends and print technology. • Pursue staff development opportunities in web design, database theory and project management. • Perform regular needs analysis in the areas of printing/photocopying, bandwidth, web and database usage, end user support, hardware and software. • Present knowledge and expertise at industry trade conferences.

Salary / Pay Rate:$35K-40K annually with benefits

Required Skills and Abilities:Knowledge: • High degree of proficiency in all MS Office applications. • Familarity with LAMP server environment; open source web content management system; voicemail administrative software; graphic design software; basic accounting/budgeting software; project management technologies and software. • Basic understanding of relational database theory. • Understanding of basic accounting procedures and budgeting. • Advanced project management knowledge. Skills: • Basic A/V equipment operating skills. • Well developed customer service skills. • Time management and organizational skills. Abilities: • Understand needs of multiple stakeholders. • Support end users with varied skill sets. • Ability to work independently. • Abillity to prioritize responsibilities. Other Requirements: • Ability to work in a highly collaborative environment where cross training, communication (both written and oral), creativity, and documentation are essential. • Must be extremely dependable.
Qualifications:At least two years work experience is required. Experience in an academic or non-profit setting is highly desirable.
