Visit www.americorps.gov Willamette West Habitat for Humanity is an ecumenical nonprofit dedicated to eliminating substandard housing and homelessness. Located in Hillsboro, Oregon, WWHFH is part of Habitat for Humanity International and serves Portland’s Westside, including Beaverton, Hillsboro, Tigard, and portions of Clackamas County. Since 1989, WWHFH has built 60 homes together with volunteers and partner families. This is a full-time AmeriCorps National Direct position serving as the affiliate's Volunteer Services Coordinator. This position supports efforts to recruit, retain, deploy and recognize our volunteer workforce. This is accomplished through volunteer database management, communications with current and potential volunteers, public speaking engagements and outreach into new areas. The term of service is Sept 2010 through July 2011. Service week will be Tue-Sat 8:00am - 4:30pm. Please send resume and cover letter to [email protected]. |

| Required Skills and Abilities: | • Excellent communication skills • Top-notch organizational skills and attention to detail • No fear of public speaking or cold sales calls • Outgoing and enthusiastic personality • Experience working with volunteers preferred • Driver’s license required • Ability to use traditional computer programs such as word, excel and outlook • Must be able to sit at a computer for long periods • Ability to lift 25 pounds • Ability to stand for long periods • Occasional evenings required • Must pass national background check |
