Position Announcement

 

Title: Project Manager

 

Summary of Position: The primary duties of this position are coordinating and implementing riparian enhancement projects involving invasive weed management and re-vegetation with native plants in the Clackamas Basin.

 

Duties of Position:

 

Project Management & Technical Assistance - Oversee Council tributary shade project and riparian enhancement activities. Manage field crew completion of riparian assessments and invasive plant removal. Some field work required. Develop and manage contractual arrangements with reforestation crews, invasive weed treatment contractors, native plant stock nurseries, and others as needed to complete riparian vegetation projects. Provide technical assistance in support of watershed planning, sustainable development, and stream restoration projects. Initiate development of a maintenance program for areas planted. Facilitate partnerships with agencies, landowners and community groups to implement riparian planting projects. Take lead in developing proposals for riparian vegetation project funding. Assist in writing grant applications for restoration projects with riparian enhancement needs.

 

Watershed Restoration / Stewardship - Identify and recommend priorities for riparian planting projects and project sites. Coordinate with Executive Director and Council staff and board team members to integrate project with other CRBC program activities as applicable.

 

Communication - Present riparian project achievements to Board, corporate sponsor, public, and natural resource professionals, including tours of project sites. Track program accomplishments and project statistics related to projects and use of funding.

 

Other - Provide support for CRBC Board of Director meetings and office administration activities. Assist Executive Director, other staff, and Council committees with Council projects, programs, events and other activities as assigned. Maintain project equipment.

 

Qualifications / Requirements:

 

* Professional experience required in project management for natural resource stewardship programs * Demonstrated interest in natural resources and community partnerships * Proficient communication skills * Computer software proficiency with Microsoft Office programs * Knowledge of and experience with GIS preferred * Preference for 4-year degree related to project management, natural resource management, environmental science, or related field * Available to work evening and weekend hours as may be needed * Valid driver's license and reliable motor vehicle

Compensation: $35,000 - $50,000
