Help IRCO Paint a Mural!

IRCO is looking for someone to help up us make our office representative of the diversity and international focus of our organization through a mural in the lobby, the focal point of our main office building.

 

 

 

Started in 1975, the Immigrant and Refugee Community Organization (IRCO) is a community-based, nonprofit organization assisting refugees and immigrants through the various stages of integration into U.S. society. Reflecting great diversity, IRCO’s clients represent many countries and regions throughout the world. IRCO is the leading refugee organization in Oregon and Southwest Washington, investing in refugees and immigrants enabling them to become self-sufficient, long-term contributors to the economic vitality of the community.

 

 

 

The artist would be asked to design the mural and work with a small committee of IRCO employees to ensure that the art is appropriate for and representative of the agency. We will provide the supplies and support, we need your artistic ability and creativity!

 

 

 

Volunteer Profile

 

 

 

• Experience with or interest painting public murals • Able to collaborate and receive constructive criticism • Able to come out to paint at IRCO’s Main Office (10301 NE Glisan) on evenings (after 5pm) and weekends

 

 

 

Schedule/ Location

 

 

 

• Mural must be completed by September 1, 2010 • Flexible schedule available, but must be outside of 8-5pm hours when IRCO office is open to public • Work will be done at the IRCO Main Office at 10301 NE Glisan Street

Your name will permanently be on IRCO’s wall, which is seen by thousands of visitors each year and also your artwork will be publicized through out website, which is visited by hundreds each day.
