Administrative Assistant

Status: .5 FTE (20 hours/week), Non-Exempt Hourly Wage: $14 per hour with pro-rated benefits Position Begins: Monday, August 30, 2010

 

Scope of Work:

 

The Right Brain Initiative is a public-private partnership designed to ensure that the arts are part of the education of every K-8 student in the Portland metropolitan area. The Right Brain Initiative Administrative Assistant provides general administrative support to the Program Manager, including meeting preparation and monthly financial reporting.

 

Examples of Work:

 

Support the work of committees including meeting preparation/setup; note taking/minutes; meeting announcements and tracking of responses; assembling materials; producing and distributing minutes; and necessary ongoing communications. Assist with monthly financial reporting. Perform data entry and track donor information in Raiser’s Edge. Assist with meeting logistics and preparation of materials for seminars, workshops and other special meetings, as needed. Maintain general program files and calendar. Provide general administrative support for the Program Manager and other Right Brain staff as needed.

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

 

Organizational skills and an ability to work quickly and accurately to coordinate workloads and deadlines.

 

Ability to communicate with others effectively, orally, in writing and through the use of computer technology.

 

Mastery of Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

 

Experience with Raiser’s Edge or equivalent database software. Basic accounting knowledge, preferred.

 

Ability to multi-task and work well within a busy team environment.

 

Skill in writing clear, concise accounts of meetings. Experience with events, coordinating calendar and logistics, preferred.

 

Flexibility in work schedule, to accommodate early morning and evening meetings. An interest in arts education, a plus. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
